What brings you joy in your ministry?
It's the little moments of connection with people! From rocking babies to hearing a long life-story, people are what make my heart soar. When life journeys bring people in my door because they sense a call to rostered ministry, those conversations are also very precious and sacred.
Who inspires you in ministry or seminary?
Youth! I am blessed to accompany a synod youth council of high school students, and I never cease to be inspired by their faith and zest for moving forward in the church with clear and valued voices.
What are your interests outside of ministry?
I love to learn, and currently the accordion is challenging me to new joy!
Best meal you've ever eaten?
If it ends with s'mores and is in the company of dear ones, it's at the top of the list!
I spent my growing up years in rural CO before leaving the plains for Chicago and Moody Bible Institute and then Concordia University. Seminary took me to Columbia, SC, where I graduated before heading to St Petersburg FL for internship and two years serving as chaplain for an amazing elementary school. My first call as a pastor then took me to the other coast, where I served 4 years in Sacramento, CA, before returning to the mountain vistas of Denver.
Did you always want to be clergy?
I have wanted to be in ministry since I was a small child, but a vision for pastoral ministry was something my own pastor saw first and nudged me to consider.
