Ministry setting

Final Year, MDIV, Wartburg Theological Seminary

What brings you joy in your ministry?

I love preaching! The process of reading, researching, writing, re-writing, and finally, speaking the Word is my favorite part of my call to ordained ministry. I developed this love during internship, where I often preached multiple times per week.

Who inspires you in ministry or seminary?

I am so grateful for my WTS professors - who serve as pastors, mentors, colleagues and friends. The Rev. Dr. Craig Nessan rocks.

What are your interests outside of ministry?

Cats, chorale, and countless hours of reading sci-fi and fantasy novels.

Best meal you've ever eaten?

While on a spontaneous trip [to a folk-rock concert, on an island in the Arctic Circle, with my second-cousin twice-removed, on MidSummer's Eve, during a summer of studying abroad in Norway], I ate a plate of fresh shrimp for dinner. It was the best meal I've ever had.

Brief bio

I claim all of Region 3 as my home. I was born and raised in Minnesota; attended university in South Dakota; and made camp family (including a for-real husband!) in North Dakota. I served as the pastoral intern at Prairie Faith Shared Ministries in rural, north-western Kansas. I have a passion for preaching in rural and detached-site parishes.
