What brings you joy in your ministry?
The moments when I realize retroactively that a conversation I've been having for half an hour has been ministry all along. Sometimes I get blindsided by it and it's kind of glorious.
Who inspires you in ministry or seminary?
My mother. My classmates and professors. My parishioners. My partner. My dog. My sister, for whom church has rarely been a life-giving place. Movement folx who are always expanding who I understand God to be.
What are your interests outside of ministry?
Biking. Reading fiction. Hanging with my neighbors. Goofing around with my dog.
Best meal you've ever eaten?
There's a leader in St. Louis movement spaces named Mama Cat. Her tilapia will bring you to your knees.
Did you always want to be clergy?
I'm a PK, so I knew I wasn't *supposed* to want to be a pastor, but I think I did have some sense of call way before I understood it as that. (My mom went to seminary when I was in high school and when I would go to her classes with her -- which should have been a sign to me -- and her professors would ask when they were going to see me in class, I would roll my eyes almost out of my head.)
