What brings you joy in your ministry?
The freedom to be creative, especially through music, in worship and Christian life brings me great joy! I also love seeing the creativity and diversity of others around me.
Who inspires you in ministry or seminary?
The list of those who inspire me in ministry is endless. Currently, the Rev. Kari Henkelmann Keyl, campus pastor of the University Lutheran Ministry of New Haven is an inspiration to me as a former field education supervisor, mentor, and spiritual friend. I've also been inspired by the compassion and leadership of pastors Mike Bennethum and Mary Wolfe of Reading, PA.
What are your interests outside of ministry?
Some of my favorite things include singing, playing piano, attending concerts, and drinking too much coffee. I also enjoy travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Best meal you've ever eaten?
My mom’s yearly Thanksgiving spread, particularly the scalloped potatoes and cranberry jello.
I grew up in Reading, Pa., attending Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church. I studied music education and sacred music at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J., and recently earned a Master of Divinity and Certificate in Lutheran Studies at Yale University’s Divinity School and Institute of Sacred Music.
