What brings you joy in your ministry?
Joining the conspiracy of pronoia: reaching out to people with the Good News of God that longs for relationship, healing and wholeness.
Who inspires you in ministry or seminary?
I'm inspired by people of all walks and stripes who put Grace into action.
What are your interests outside of ministry?
Running, biking, gardening, cooking, baking.
Best meal you've ever eaten?
The last one.
I am a New Jersey native and have been a Californian since 1989. He's a 1996 graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and holds degrees in Hospitality Management, Economics and Social Work. Ordained in 1997, he's served as Pastor/Redeveloper for parishes in the cities of Whittier, Anaheim and Orange, and Interim Pastor for parishes in Canoga Park and Santa Monica.
Pastor Steve lives with his husband, Ben-Andy Hein, in Hollywood, California and is a member of Hollywood Lutheran Church.
Did you always want to be clergy?
NO! It was a process, a calling, a series of challenges and an unfolding revelation that I am called to be a part of God's conspiracy of Grace.
