ELM Grants
Since 1995, we’ve given away grants each year to support ministry by LGBTQ Lutheran rostered leaders. ELM awarded $62,000 in grants to five ministries in 2011. The grant recipients are selected by the Grants program team, led by Margaret Moreland. Through this program, ELM donors support diverse ministries and congregations led by publicly-identified LGBTQ rostered leaders. ELM donors have given away over $850,000 to ministry since the program began.
Our 2012 grant cycle is now closed. Information on 2013 grants will go out in summer 2012.

2012 Ministry Grant Recipients
This year we faced a difficult challenge because we received $133,000 in grant requests but had only $62,000 to give, for us this underscored the need for more support to fund these important ministries. In 2012, ELM supporters will fund seven ministries across the country:
- East Bay Lutheran Youth Program, Pastor Craig Minich
- EcoFaith Recovery; Portland, OR; Innovative environmental ministry; Pastor Robyn Hartwig
- Grace Lutheran Church; Houston, TX; Pastor Lura Groen
- Welcome and Center for Gay and Lesbian Studies; San Francisco Bay Area; National program for LGBTQ homeless teens; Pastor Megan Rohrer and Pastor Dawn Roginski
- St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Edwin Weber (Intern)
- St. Luke’s Lutheran of Logan Square; Pastor Erik Christensen
- Pastor Cindy Crane, Anti-bullying ministry in South Central Synod of Wisconsin
- Set-Aside for 2012 Seminarian Internships
